The 1999chronograph (Classic 99) Ref. 4946 was only made between 1999 and 2002. Thisone was purchased in 11/14/2002 from Hyde Park Aspen CO.

In myopinion, it is among the best-looking chronographs ever offered by any brand,period. Its proportions and overall size are ideal, and the dial is so greatlooking. The “fit and finish” on a Girard Perregaux is the best, tied with onlyA. Lange & Sohne. The watch was offered with a cream color dial or thisblack dial, which is much rarer. In all, GP made around 500 of the 1999chronographs. This is number 4XX. (this is per information provided viathe web)

Steel case is 38mm by 13mm with long curving lugs,domed sapphire crystal, display back with sapphire crystal and pump stylechronograph pushers. Signed crown. Girard Perregaux makes its own cases andmovements and their attention to detail is evident.

Black dial with applied arabic numerals and largesword hands, date window between 4 and 5 o’clock, and tachymetre scale at theperiphery. Three sunken subdials with concentric guilloche: running seconds, 30minute chronograph totalizer and 12 hour totalizer.

Movement is the automatic winding in-house GirardPerregaux manufacture Caliber 3370, which is built from the base GP Caliber3300. With 63 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, this is ahigh-end movement.

Strap is an original Girard Perregaux crocodilewith exposed stitching that perfectly flatters the watch and GP deployment Buckle. Watch is in great condition and is a rare find.

This is a beauty. It is very rare to find a GP with original box,papers, and tool. Defiantly a collector watch, given its limited production.Please look at all the pictures, as they are part of the description. The watchis working and a highly collectible watch.
